Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
  3. In a small bowl, combine minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, dried thyme, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Drizzle 1 tsp of cooking oil over the fillets and sprinkle the spice mix evenly on both sides.
  5. Let the fish sit for about 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Cooking
  1. Place the seasoned tilapia fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  2. Spray the tops lightly with cooking oil.
  3. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until opaque and flaky.
  4. Check that the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption.
Serving
  1. Remove the fillets from the air fryer using a spatula.
  2. Serve immediately with side dishes like steamed vegetables or a fresh salad.
  3. Squeeze lemon juice on top for a refreshing finish.

Notes

For best results, marinate fillets for 30 minutes before cooking and avoid overcrowding the air fryer.
