Method

Thickening the Soup

  2. Whisk in the flour and cook for an additional minute, stirring frequently.
  3. Stir in the milk and bring to a simmer. Cook until the sauce has thickened considerably.
Final Preparation
  1. Pour the sauce, shredded cheese, sour cream, salt, and pepper into the slow cooker and stir to combine.
  2. Using an immersion blender, puree about ⅓ of the soup for a creamy texture.
