Chicken and Garnish
  • 2 pounds Chicken drumsticks Main ingredient that soaks up the flavorful marinade.
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil Prevents the chicken from sticking to the grill.
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds Provides a crunchy garnish that enhances presentation.

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare the Marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar, honey, garlic, and green onions.
  2. Reserve Marinade: Transfer 1/4 cup of the marinade into a smaller bowl; cover and refrigerate.
  3. Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken drumsticks into a large resealable plastic bag. Add remaining marinade, turning until drumsticks are well coated.
  4. Refrigerate Overnight: Seal the bag and refrigerate overnight to allow flavors to penetrate.
Grilling
  1. Preheat the Grill: The next day, preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F).
  2. Prepare Grill Grates: Brush grill grates liberally with oil to prevent chicken from sticking.
  3. Grill the Chicken: Place drumsticks on grill and discard marinade left in the resealable bag.
  4. Baste and Turn: Grill drumsticks, brushing occasionally with the reserved marinade and turning every 3 to 4 minutes, until fully cooked (about 25 to 30 minutes).
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For optimal flavor absorption, marinate overnight. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
