  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg Contributes a warm, earthy aroma and flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger Adds a little heat and complexity to the spice mix.

Glaze Ingredients
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Used for the glaze, offering a smooth finish.
  • 1/4 cup almond milk Creates a perfect consistency for the glaze.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a loaf pan by lining it with parchment paper and spraying it with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, whisking constantly until it turns browned and nutty in aroma. Transfer to a bowl and let it cool for 5-10 minutes.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Blend in the browned butter.
  2. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 50-65 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling and Glazing
  1. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
  2. In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, maple syrup, and almond milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled pumpkin bread, slice, and serve.

Notes

For optimal results, brown the butter well, measure ingredients accurately, and avoid overmixing. Add nuts or chocolate chips for variations.
