Method
 

Preparation
  1. Toast the pine nuts in a dry skillet until darkened (optional for extra flavor).
  2. Add toasted pine nuts, garlic, and lemon juice to a food processor and pulse until broken up.
  3. Add fresh basil and parmesan cheese, pulsing until the basil is in small pieces.
  4. While the food processor is on low speed, slowly drizzle in olive oil until reaching the desired consistency.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

For a spicier version, consider adding red pepper flakes. Use fresh ingredients for best flavor. Store in airtight container with a drizzle of olive oil to prevent browning.
